A guy was given a 20-year prison term for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
Given the victim’s age and the fact that the accused was her stepfather, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) stressed the seriousness of the case in a statement issued on Monday, November 6.
“Today, the Muranga Law found a man guilty of defilement and sentenced him to 20 years in prison,” said prosecution attorney Calvin Kirui. In contrast to the Sexual Offenses Act’s Section 8(1) as read with Section 8(3),” the statement said.
A serious felony involving the penetration of a minor is defilement, as defined by Section 8(1) of the Sexual Offences Act.
The Act further stipulates that a person who defiles a kid who is eleven years of age or younger would be sentenced to life in prison if found guilty.
A conviction for a youngster between the ages of twelve and fifteen involves a minimum sentence of twenty years or more.
