The primary suspect, Mustafa Idd, has been found guilty of murder by the Eldoret High Court, four years after Emma Wanyota, a student at Vera Beauty College, was killed.
Judge Reuben Nyakundi said in a verdict on Thursday that Mustafa was accountable for the student’s murder, who was 21 years old.
Emma’s body was discovered at home, severely disfigured and missing pieces. On September 30, 2019, it is said that she was raped before having her legs amputated.
Sheila Wanyotta, the sister of the victim, testified following the occurrence that Mustafa was familiar to them and had been Emmah’s ex-boyfriend.
“After parting ways with my sister in August, he has been threatening her and also all the male contacts in her phonebook,” she stated.
The date of Mustafa’s sentencing is November 22, 2023.
