After battling esophageal cancer for more than a year, the Turkana County Assembly has announced the loss of MCA Michael Egialan Ekwar, a member representing the Lakezone ward.
Egialan was elected on a UDA ticket and served as an MCA for the first term in the Turkana County Assembly.
Speaker of the Turkana County Assembly Christopher Nakuleu described the late MCA as a dedicated leader who took part in bringing significant motions and proposals before the Assembly while making a statement to the media.
Nakuleu claimed that from 2013 to 2021, he presided over NGCDF Turkana North before the late MCA entered politics. Before this role, he spent more than 20 years as the senior chief of Ng’isiger Location.
In Turkana North’s Lowarengak village, funeral preparations are in progress.
